Elbow Pain
Epicondylitis, Golfer's and Tennis Elbow
Repetitive or prolonged use of the elbow and/or the wrist can
lead to shortening and weakness and irritation of the muscles at the
elbow. Pain may develop on the inside of the elbow (golfer's elbow) or
the outside of the elbow (tennis elbow). This pain may become so severe
that you are unable to grasp, lift or carry anything.
Symptoms:
- Pain on inside or outside of elbow
- Weakness in hand or arm
- Pain/weakness on grasping or carrying
Healthy Living Tips For Elbow Pain
Periodic checkups or supportive care. Supporting
proper functioning of the elbow and wrist with periodic treatments
minimizes the stresses to the associated joints, muscles and nerves.
Home and Work Stretches and Exercises.
Stretching and strengthening exercises to stabilize the elbow and wrist
and balance the musculature on either side of the wrist and elbow.
Practice Proper Ergonomics. We will assess what activities cause the problem and educate you on how to correct motions that irritate the area.
